Overview

trivago, the hotel price comparison company, is seeking a Working Student as Content Data Engineer in Düsseldorf. The position sits in the Service Desk team within Content Data Quality and Governance, which ensures the quality and accuracy of hotel content data and works with stakeholders across the company to maintain high data standards and resolve content issues.

The student works in a fast-paced, international tech team and learns how a data-driven company operates and makes decisions, along with good practice in SQL, data analysis and quality assurance, and how to support data engineers in improving content data pipelines.

What you will do

Tasks include using SQL to query, analyse and validate content data for inconsistencies, identifying, investigating and escalating content quality issues in cooperation with engineers, and supporting data engineering by improving data quality practices and keeping data pipelines clean and structured. The student also helps automate and refine existing workflows and works with content teams, data engineers and stakeholders to improve data governance.

Who can apply

Candidates should be comfortable writing SQL queries for analysis and quality checks, able to spot data inconsistencies and suggest solutions, enjoy teamwork and care about optimising workflows. They must be able to commit 20 hours per week for at least one year, be enrolled at a university in Germany and live within commuting distance of Düsseldorf. Knowledge of Python, experience with data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI, familiarity with ETL pipelines, experience in agentic automation and some understanding of AI tools are all advantages.

What you get

Benefits include personalised coaching, free German language classes, workshops, meetups, conferences, online courses and a campus library. Working hours are flexible, with paid vacation days, at least one work-from-home day each week and up to 20 days per year of remote work from another location in Germany or selected countries abroad. On office days there is a canteen budget, free snacks and drinks, an on-site gym with sports classes and ergonomic desks.
