Terms of Reference for Physical Academy Trainers – Digital Futures Programme Kenya 2027

Overview

The Digital Futures Programme in Kenya seeks eight individual consultants or contracted trainers to serve as Physical Academy Trainers. The initiative aims to expand access to sustainable career opportunities and dignified employment for persons with disabilities through inclusive digital skills training, workplace exposure, and employability development. Sightsavers is recruiting for these positions to deliver face-to-face instruction across four National Industrial Training Authority campuses in Nairobi, Athi River, Mombasa, and Kisumu. The duration of the engagement is nine months, running from the programme launch on 3 March 2027 until the closing date on 31 December 2027.

Who can apply

Applicants should possess a bachelor degree, an equivalent professional qualification, or relevant technical experience in their assigned discipline, along with current technical expertise and relevant industry certifications where applicable. Candidates need substantial professional experience in digital technology and practical training, as well as experience designing curricula, lesson plans, assessments, and project-based learning. Additional qualifications include knowledge of accessible education, inclusive training approaches, and supporting diverse learners, specifically persons with disabilities.
