Overview

Zynga, a mobile games company and label of Take-Two Interactive, is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to work on the game Two Dots at its Barcelona studio, part of the Socialpoint group. The company was founded in 2007, and its games have been downloaded over 6 billion times by players in more than 175 countries.

The intern joins the Game Development team and works with senior developers on internal game development tools and libraries, helping make the game production pipeline more efficient. The work is hands-on with real ownership, and a high standard is expected from the first day.

What you will do

The intern develops and improves internal libraries together with other teams and implements scoped tasks from understanding the problem to delivering a reviewed and tested solution. Short technical design documents are written before implementation. Other duties include profiling, debugging and optimising on real iOS and Android devices, working on third-party integrations and platform-specific functionality, improving technical documentation and training resources, keeping colleagues informed of progress and blockers, and taking part in code reviews.

Requirements

Applicants need strong C# skills and programming fundamentals including data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design. Proficiency in Unity3D must be shown through at least one complete project, either published or available as a readable repository. Working knowledge of vectors, matrices, quaternions and 2D and 3D graphics is expected, along with effective debugging that finds root causes, disciplined coding habits and strong communication skills. Bonus points go to those who have built and run their own app or game on iOS or Android, have used performance profiling tools, have integrated a third-party SDK or know Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin or Java.

What you get

The hybrid working model asks for attendance at the Barcelona office at least two days per week. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays, free English, Spanish and Catalan lessons, social events, an on-site gym, free breakfast, lunch and specialty coffee, and an on-site physiotherapist and hairdresser.

How to apply

Applications are submitted in English.
