Program Overview: founded in 1967 by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the International Affairs Fellowship (IAF) works to connect academic research with the practice of U.S. foreign policy. It gives mid-career professionals a chance to broaden their perspective by stepping into a new environment, helping to cultivate the next generation of scholar-practitioners. More than 650 distinguished alumni have come through the program, including a former U.S.
