Overview

The SALTO PI Editorial Board Opportunity 2026 invites experienced professionals and young contributors to join its Editorial Board for a cycle running until December 2027. This initiative supports democratic participation, common values, and civic engagement through the development of educational resources and knowledge platforms connected to the Erasmus+ programme and the European Solidarity Corps. The board consists of twelve members distributed across six sectors, including Higher Education, School Education, Vocational Education and Training, Adult Education, Youth, and Sport.

Who can apply

Applicants must reside in an EU Member State, though residents of neighbouring countries may also be considered. Candidates are required to have professional working proficiency in English at a minimum of C1 level, alongside relevant experience or knowledge related to their chosen editorial sector. Editorial Fellows must be at least 18 years old and remain under 35 throughout the entire cycle, while Sector Mentors have no stated age limit but must demonstrate relevant professional expertise. Applicants must submit individual applications for only one role.

What you get

Selected participants receive financial compensation for the full cycle, distributed in two instalments in June to July 2027 and December 2027. Sector Mentors receive a total of €3,000, and Editorial Fellows receive €1,800. The workload is part-time and primarily remote, averaging one to two days per month. Additionally, participants must attend a mandatory in-person meeting in early 2027, with travel, accommodation, and event costs covered.

Requirements

Candidates must submit their application documents in English. Required materials include a completed online application form, a statement explaining relevant experience and motivation, proposed editorial topics, and a short original writing sample in English. Sector Mentors must also provide a mentoring approach, while Editorial Fellows must include a dissemination plan.

How to apply

Interested candidates must review the official call, select a single role and an appropriate editorial sector, and prepare all requested documentation. Applications must be submitted through the appropriate online application form before the deadline.
