Overview

The Precursor Ventures AI & Investment Operations Internship 2027 is a part-time position designed for a current student interested in understanding how an early-stage investment team operates and simplifying complex workflows. The intern will focus on an operational and artificial intelligence project, audit tools and agents across the firm, map out workflows, build a shared system or dashboard, and participate in team meetings and founder pitches to evaluate startups. The time commitment involves approximately 15 hours per week, structured around the student's academic schedule, alongside required weekly team meetings on Tuesdays and Fridays in Pacific Time.

Who can apply

Applicants must currently be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university in the United States. Candidates are also required to be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship, as this position is not eligible for employer-sponsored visas. While previous venture capital experience is not required, applicants need to have built a tool, automation, dashboard, or workflow to showcase, actively use artificial intelligence tools in their own work, and possess a curiosity about startups and investor evaluations.

What you get

Selected interns receive a paid, part-time position that involves taking ownership of a real operational challenge. Participants gain a working understanding of how early-stage investors source, evaluate, and decide on new investments, receive feedback on startup evaluations, collaborate directly with the investment team, and gain exposure to early-stage founders and their companies.

Requirements

The position requires candidates to be comfortable learning existing workplace habits before proposing new systems and able to transform messy tools or processes into understandable, usable resources for others. Responsibilities include auditing existing agents and workflows, building a shared resource to surface useful ideas, identifying inefficiencies to reduce duplicated work, and completing a capstone project consisting of an artificial intelligence tooling audit and a working shared resource with recommendations.

Key dates

The application deadline is November 29, 2026.
