Oxfam Inequality Campaigns Intern – Operations 2026 – 12-Month Internship
Overview
Oxfam International is offering a 12-month Inequality Campaigns Intern (Operations) placement in Nairobi, within its Influencing and Engagement Hub. The intern supports the inequality, economic and climate justice team with internal operations and coordination, reporting to the Inequality Research and Policy Advisor. A learning plan is developed jointly by the intern and their line manager so the placement connects with personal development goals.
What you will do
Responsibilities include assisting with internal operations such as documentation, finance activities, donor reporting and other operational processes, supporting coordination of the team's monthly newsletter, helping the team organise and coordinate its activities, and other assigned duties. Interns can take part in projects linked to Oxfam's inequality campaigns work, including advocacy, public campaigns and policy on economic inequality, public services, development finance and climate change, within the worldwide Oxfam confederation. The placement offers a chance to build skills in project management, procurement, finance, team coordination and communication, and to network inside and outside Oxfam.
Requirements
Applicants need strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, fluent written and spoken English, demonstrable time management, and a clear wish to gain technical experience in the international NGO sector. They should be self-aware, able to liaise tactfully with people at different levels, and flexible enough to handle a wide range of tasks. Candidates are expected to commit to Oxfam's values of inclusion, accountability, empowerment, courage, solidarity and equality, its feminist principles, its Code of Conduct and its safeguarding training and policies.
How to apply
Oxfam is committed to diversity and gender equality and to safeguarding against sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct. Offers are subject to satisfactory references and screening checks, which may include criminal records and terrorism finance checks.
