Genworth Data Analytics Intern – Summer 2027 With a stipend of $23–$26 per hour
Overview
Genworth is offering an 11-week, full-time, hybrid Data Analytics Intern position for Summer 2027 in Richmond, Virginia. The intern works with Genworth and CareScout on data-driven projects and strategic initiatives in the insurance and care management sectors, collaborating with teams that may include IT, Operations and CareScout Services.
The work involves using programming and analytical techniques to explore and interpret large datasets, choosing methods for handling complex, high-volume data, and developing insights through analysis and modelling. It can involve structured and unstructured data on claims, policies and payments. Other tasks include building dashboards and reporting tools, detailed data validation, supporting analytics projects that improve operational efficiency, supporting automation and repeatable reporting, promoting self-service reporting for business partners, and presenting accomplishments to organizational leaders. Interns also take part in on-site technical and professional development classes, build relationships with peers and mentors, and join sponsored community service events.
Who can apply
Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in mathematics, data science, statistics, operations research or another analytical or technical discipline, with a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Genworth will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position, so candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States.
Requirements
Experience with relational database technologies such as SQL Server, Greenplum or Oracle is required. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and be able to explain technical information to non-technical audiences, along with leadership and interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity, a passion for problem solving, a customer-experience mindset and a results-oriented, self-motivated approach. Experience with big data technologies such as Databricks, Azure, Hadoop, Spark or Hive, and with visualization tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau or Python, is desirable.
What you get
The pay range is 23 to 26 dollars per hour. Actual pay may vary with location, experience and skills, and the position may be eligible for a bonus incentive plan, which is not guaranteed.
