Cybersecurity Intern

Overview

Sereact GmbH is hiring a Cybersecurity Intern in Stuttgart, Germany. The role focuses on improving the security and monitoring of the company's cloud infrastructure and internal systems. A key project is building and rolling out a SIEM platform for centralised security monitoring and threat detection. The intern also works on vulnerability management and ISO 27001 and SOC 2 controls while developing security tools and automation in Python, JavaScript and TypeScript. Technical guidance is provided, and the intern gradually takes ownership of practical security projects.

What you will do

Responsibilities include helping build, deploy and maintain the SIEM platform by integrating logs from cloud infrastructure, applications, identity systems and network devices, and configuring dashboards, detection rules and alerts. The intern also improves infrastructure security through access reviews, secure configurations and vulnerability remediation, investigates alerts and supports incident response, develops security automation with checks built into CI/CD workflows, and supports ISO 27001 and SOC 2 controls through audit evidence collection and documentation.

Requirements

Applicants should be pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, computer science or a related field, with basic knowledge of infrastructure security, networking, Linux and SIEM concepts, familiarity with ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and practical coding experience in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript plus Git. Curiosity, clear communication and a practical approach to problems matter.

Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes or Terraform, with SIEM, monitoring, vulnerability scanning or compliance tools such as Vanta, with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Google Cloud Build, or with REST APIs is a plus. Experience with every listed technology is not expected.
