Overview

The CERN Administrative Student Programme 2027 places students in administrative fields at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, in Meyrin, Switzerland. Students receive a student programme contract lasting 2 to 12 months, with an expected start in January 2027. The programme suits undergraduate and master's students whose degree includes an internship, in areas such as translation, human resources, secretarial work, business administration, law, logistics, finance, communications, library science, accounting, information science, audit, public relations and procurement.

Who can apply

Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State and must have completed at least 18 months (3 semesters) of study by the time of selection. They need to be studying in an administrative or related field and remain full-time students throughout the studentship. They must be available for at least 4 and at most 12 months and have a good knowledge of English or French. PhD students and PhD holders are not eligible.

For this intake, applications from Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot and Croatian nationals cannot currently be considered, because the ceiling under the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.

What you get

Students receive a tax-free monthly allowance of 3,486 Swiss Francs. Travel expenses to Geneva may be covered, and married students or those with children may receive a family supplement, depending on individual circumstances. Health insurance is included, with the contribution deducted from the allowance, and students are entitled to 30 days of paid leave per year plus two weeks of annual closure.

How to apply

Applicants click the I'm interested button on the CERN careers page and sign in through LinkedIn, Smartprofile or Indeed. They upload a resume, enter personal, academic and experience details, and write a motivational message. Answers are time-limited once the application starts, so preparing them in advance is advisable, and each position needs its own application. A CV in English or French is required; an academic reference letter and transcript are optional.

Key dates

The deadline is 16 October 2026 at 23:59 Geneva time.
