Overview

MongoDB, a data platform company whose cloud database is available across AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, is offering a six-month Software Engineer Internship in Dublin starting in January 2027. Interns are fully integrated into software engineering teams across the Product and Technology organisation, collaborate with full-time engineers and cross-functional colleagues, learn standard development methods and gain practical experience. They spend their time pushing production-level code that contributes to products and services used by internal teams, customers and developers.

The internship is full-time at 40 hours per week and is a fixed-term programme. All interns are designated as hybrid employees under the in-office working model and are expected to be in the office three to five days a week.

Who can apply

Applicants should be working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field, with a foundation in computer science theory and proficiency in data structures, algorithms and software design. Fluency in one of Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, Node.js or a comparable object-oriented language is expected. Candidates must have at least one semester of university studies remaining after the internship, with graduation in spring or summer 2028, and must be authorised to work in Ireland and provide documents on request. Company sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates applying for certain roles.

What you get

Interns are paired with an engineering mentor, a programme advisor from the Early Talent Recruitment team and an employee resource group guide. They receive career coaching sessions, mental and physical health benefits, paid time off and free lunch, and can attend speaker series and roundtables with executives and department leaders. The programme also offers social events and a chance of a full-time offer at the end of the internship.
