Overview

The Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards 2027 are sponsored by Continental Reinsurance to celebrate journalists who produce exceptional reporting on insurance and reinsurance topics across the African continent. These awards highlight work that shapes conversations about the sector and demonstrates how reporting improves the public perception of the re/insurance industry in Africa. Eligible categories for the 2027 edition consist of Best Re/Insurance Arabic Entry, Best Re/Insurance Broadcast Entry, Best Re/Insurance Social Media Entry, Best Re/Insurance Print Entry, Best Re/Insurance Online Entry, and Best Re/Insurance French Entry.

Who can apply

Eligible candidates include print, online, broadcast, and social media journalists who have published work focusing on reinsurance and insurance. Submissions must be presented in English, French, or Arabic.

What you get

Selected recipients are honored at an awards ceremony held alongside an industry event, subject to health and government restrictions. Continental Re covers the travel and hotel accommodation expenses for attendees to join this ceremony. Additionally, winners receive a complimentary invitation to the event, have their names and photographs published in online channels and literature produced by Continental Re, and are permitted to use their award titles for professional development purposes.

Requirements

Applicants may submit either a published print, online, or broadcast piece, which includes radio and television clips, in one of the accepted languages. Each participant is restricted to entering a single submission per category.
