IHS AI Workforce Faculty Research Grant Program 2027 (up to $20,000)
Overview
The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) AI Workforce Faculty Research Grant Program 2027 responds to the debate over how the adoption of artificial intelligence will affect work, a question that needs more long-term research and data. The request for proposals aims to fill that gap.
IHS invites applications from academic scholars whose research addresses how AI influences employment, productivity, occupational change, economic opportunity and innovation over time. It is especially interested in proposals that bridge disciplines. Research deliverables can include peer-reviewed publications, policy white papers or shareable research databases.
What you get
Awarded scholars may receive up to $20,000, and larger awards may be considered for exceptional projects. Funds may be used for travel and research activities, including travel for conference presentations and archival research and research collaboration such as hiring a research assistant. They may also cover data and research materials, such as datasets and LLM subscriptions for specialised research sources, and publishing and dissemination costs, such as journal submission fees, book publication expenses like copyediting or indexing, and preparing research manuscripts.
Who can apply
The programme is for academic scholars whose research relates to the effects of AI on work and the economy.
