Overview

The Pacific Fund is a cooperation mechanism created in 1985 and administered by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme supports cooperation projects designed to promote social, economic, scientific, and cultural development and integration in the Pacific region. The fund specifically aims to strengthen cooperation and contribute to the integration of French Pacific territories into their wider regional environment by funding initiatives that involve both French territories and independent Pacific states.

Who can apply

Eligible organisations and partners are invited to submit proposals. Proposals should preferably involve Pacific organisations or research institutes, with particular encouragement given to those from New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and Wallis and Futuna. Projects must involve cooperation between France's Pacific territories and one or more independent Pacific states.

Requirements

Applicants must review the official call for proposals, application documents, and the budget template before applying. A significant funding restriction applies regarding project budgets: the Pacific Fund does not accept projects that are co-financed where at least half of the project cost is financed by other sources. Applicants need to ensure their proposed financing structure complies with this condition.

How to apply

Proposals must be submitted to the French Permanent Secretariat for the Pacific via email at fondspacifique.spp@diplomatie.gouv.fr. Applicants should use the dedicated application form and the official budget template provided for the 2027 funding cycle.

Key dates

The application deadline is 31 December 2026.
