France Embassy Uganda 2027 Grants: Up to UGX 7.5 Million for Sport, Inclusion and Francophonie Projects

Overview

The French Embassy in Uganda has launched the Sport, Inclusion and Francophonie 2027 Call for Proposals to support locally driven initiatives that use sport to promote Olympic values, equal opportunities, youth empowerment, social cohesion, and active citizenship. This programme connects with the French Alps 2030 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games and France's Terre de Jeux 2030 initiative. Supported projects must be implemented between December 2026 and March 2027.

Who can apply

The call is open to local organisations in Uganda that have the capacity to carry out the proposed activities. Each organisation is restricted to submitting a single proposal. Applicants must demonstrate their ability to deliver the project, incorporate a Francophonie component, and promote Olympic values.

What you get

Successful proposals may receive funding ranging from a minimum of UGX 4,500,000 to a maximum of UGX 7.5 million. Partial co-funding is welcome. Applicants are expected to submit realistic budgets reflecting their proposed activities and implementation capacity.

Requirements

Proposed projects must prioritize areas such as gender equality and women leadership, youth empowerment and civic engagement, inclusion and accessibility for vulnerable or underrepresented groups, innovation and sustainable community impact, and a clear connection with Francophonie through the French language, cultural activities, or Francophone networks. A communication strategy must be included to ensure visibility for the project, partners, and the French Embassy support. Applicants must submit a complete package containing a project proposal, a detailed budget, a signed cover letter, registration documents, the organisational statute, and official bank details.

Eligible organisations must submit their complete application package by email to the French Embassy in Uganda at scac.kampala-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr. The email subject line must follow the exact format SPORT AND FRANCOPHONIE 2027 followed by the organisation name.

Key dates

The application deadline is 8 November 2026. Approved projects must be implemented between December 2026 and March 2027.
