Overview

The Canadian Women’s Foundation is offering multi-year funding through its youth strategy, Feminist Futures, to support organizations that empower young people and advance gender equality. The funding opportunity includes two main grant streams, named Shifting Futures and Next Waves, which support direct youth programming as well as collaborative initiatives and networks that strengthen the capacity of youth-serving organizations.

What you get

Selected organizations receive $50,000 per year for a duration of four years, resulting in a total grant amount of $200,000. Approximately 20 grants will be awarded in total, with around 10 grants allocated to each of the two funding streams during the 2027 to 2031 funding period.

Who can apply

Organizations interested in advancing gender justice, preventing violence, supporting girls, and creating opportunities for young people to thrive are encouraged to apply. The Shifting Futures stream specifically supports programs for young people of all genders between the ages of 13 and 29, while the Next Waves stream supports girls and gender-diverse youth.

Applicants must first submit a Letter of Intent before the specified deadline. Following this initial stage, invited applicants will be asked to submit a full proposal.
