Calling Women Journalists: Apply for the 2026 Lauren Brown Fellowship and Reporting Grants
Overview
The 2026 Lauren Brown Fellowship is a programme created by colleagues, family, friends, and peers in memory of Lauren Alix Brown, a founding editor at Quartz Media and director of special projects who passed away in 2019 at the age of 37. Established to continue her legacy of supporting emerging journalists and championing underrepresented voices, the initiative is administered by the International Women’s Media Foundation. The programme aims to help journalists develop meaningful stories, expand their reporting capabilities, and advance their careers while bringing overlooked perspectives and underreported issues into public discussion.
Who can apply
The fellowship is open to women journalists from underrepresented backgrounds, including individuals with diverse socioeconomic and educational experiences and others whose perspectives have historically been overlooked in mainstream media.
