Apply for the SRHR Applied Research Centre Funding 2026: Up to £12 Million for Global Sexual and Reproductive Health Research
Overview
The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Applied Research Centre is an international initiative funded by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and implemented through the Global Research and Technology Development Research Commissioning Centre, which is co-led by 3ie and the University of Birmingham. The programme aims to establish a research centre that strengthens the evidence base for sexual and reproductive health and rights, improves the use of research in policymaking, and supports health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. The core applied research programme will focus on at least six diverse low- and middle-income countries.
Who can apply
Eligible applicants include public universities, nonprofit research organisations, and private universities with a clearly defined nonprofit division. The research centre must be led by an eligible institution in a low- or middle-income country, acting either independently or through a qualifying institutional partnership. The initiative expects institutions to form a consortium capable of conducting multidisciplinary research across multiple low- and middle-income countries.
