Overview

The World Food Forum Young Scientists Group serves as the primary body supplying technical knowledge and scientific evidence to the activities of the World Food Forum Youth Initiative, such as the Youth Assembly, Youth Innovation Lab, and Youth Education Programme. This support results in a biennial report focusing on specific technical issues concerning youth and agrifood systems transformation. Operating in two-year cohorts for the 2027-2029 period, the composition of the group aligns with the Food and Agriculture Organization Four Betters covering better production, better nutrition, better environment, and better life, while following specific Programme Priority Areas to direct their activities. The group leverages Food and Agriculture Organization areas of expertise, engages with relevant academic networks and partners, and delivers science-based direction and formal scientific opinions on documents, statements, or action-oriented proposals produced by participating youth.
