WAVE Youth Ambassadors 2027–2028: Call for Applications for Young Women’s Rights Activists Across Europe
Overview
The WAVE Youth Ambassadors initiative is a Europe-wide volunteer programme dedicated to promoting gender equality, preventing violence against women and girls, and advancing women's human rights. Established in October 2018, the programme brings together its fifth generation of young activists to strengthen youth participation in feminist advocacy, encourage collective learning, and support youth-led efforts against harmful gender norms.
The initiative runs for two years from January 2027 to December 2028. Selected ambassadors participate in campaigning, awareness-raising, and decision-making processes, contributing their personal experiences and creativity to a supportive feminist community.
Who can apply
Applicants must be young people aged 18 to 26 based in a European country who have a good command of English. Candidates need to demonstrate a commitment to challenging gender inequality, an understanding of the impact of violence against women and girls, and a willingness to volunteer and collaborate with a diverse group of peers. Participants are expected to be available for the full two-year mandate and have an interest in creating engaging content and developing advocacy skills.
What you get
Ambassadors build advocacy and communication skills through capacity-building activities focused on women's rights and campaign strategies. Participants connect with a network of over 2,000 women’s rights organisations across Europe, exchange knowledge with peers from different national contexts, and access WAVE's specialised resources. Additionally, ambassadors help influence feminist advocacy by integrating youth perspectives into WAVE's activities and priorities.
