Overview

The VFD Future Leaders Graduate Trainee Programme 2026 is aimed at ambitious graduates who want to become the next generation of financial architects. Over 18 months, trainees gain hands-on experience in one of the strategic career tracks, work on real business challenges, receive executive mentorship and contribute to businesses shaping the future of financial services and investment across Africa.

The programme offers an 18-month structured rotation across Finance, Risk, Strategy and Operations, with direct mentorship from VFD's C-suite and senior leadership team. Trainees are involved in live deals, client relationships and business decisions, receive a competitive salary with performance-linked progression and gain access to a network of leading financial professionals in Africa. There is a fast-track pathway to a permanent leadership role after graduation.

Who can apply

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree with at least a Second Class Upper (2:1) or equivalent, have completed NYSC, and have no more than two years of post-graduate work experience. They should show exceptional academic achievement or leadership potential.
