University of Melbourne Visiting Fellowship 2027 (up to $AUD6,000)
Overview
The University of Melbourne Visiting Fellowship 2027 is run through the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness. The scheme gives researchers, practitioners and educators working on statelessness a chance to engage with the Centre's work and strengthen international collaborations.
What you get
Visiting Fellows receive a workspace, library access and computer access. They are expected to take full part in the life of the Centre during their stay, including its events and workshops. Funding of up to $AUD6,000 is available to cover international travel and accommodation in Melbourne for the length of the Fellowship.
Fellows present their work in a Faculty or public seminar or a work-in-progress meeting and, where appropriate, contribute a blog post to the Critical Statelessness Studies blog.
Who can apply
Applications are invited from people ranging from early-career postdoctoral researchers to tenured academics. Non-academic visiting professionals can also apply if they propose an applied research project relevant to the Centre's work. Researchers with lived experience of statelessness are strongly encouraged to apply.
How to apply
Applications are submitted as a single PDF document containing a curriculum vitae and list of publications, and a research plan of up to 1,000 words. The plan should outline the research, the proposed activities and collaboration during the visit, and the contribution to the Centre's work.
The PDF must also include the proposed dates of the visit and the fellowship amount requested, up to a maximum of AUD$6000, with a budget breakdown that covers airfares where needed. One letter of reference is required; non-academic visitors should provide a letter of support from their employer or another organization they are professionally associated with. The email subject line should read Visiting Fellowship Application.
Key dates
The application deadline is November 30, 2026.
