Overview
The University of California President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program offers postdoctoral research fellowships, professional development and faculty mentoring to outstanding scholars in all fields whose research, teaching and service will advance the research excellence and public service missions of the University of California. About 30 fellowships are awarded each year. The award gives scholars focused research time to establish an independent research programme and prepares them for the professoriate through participation in programme activities.
What you get
The fellowship provides a salary of $69,073 and $5,000 for research expenses and professional development. It also includes health, vision and dental benefits, paid sick leave, family and medical leave, and four weeks of paid time off during the fellowship term.
Who can apply
The programme is open to all scholars holding terminal degrees in their discipline. Applicants will be considered if they are engaged in new fields of research, use innovative approaches in existing fields, have developed scholarly perspectives or work on topics that differ from those available in the UC campus department where they would be placed, or have life experiences and educational backgrounds that would broaden the perspectives represented in the UC faculty. All scholars who want to carry out postdoctoral research at any UC campus and pursue an academic career at the UC are invited to apply.
