UNESCO has opened applications for the 2026 UNESCO/Japan Young Researchers' Fellowships Programme (also called the UNESCO/Keizo Obuchi Research Fellowships), giving young researchers from eligible countries a route to further their academic careers in Japan. Funded by the Japanese government, the programme awards 10 competitive fellowships of up to US$10,000 each for postgraduate research at Japanese universities and research institutes.
