Novo Nordisk Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships at Massachusetts Institute of Technology 2027 (Funded)
Overview
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 2027 let early career researchers carry out cutting-edge research in collaboration with a research group at MIT, a leading global university in science and technology. The fellowship lasts three years. Fellows work on a research project at MIT for the first two years, followed by a return phase of up to one year at a Danish university or another Danish public or non-profit research institution.
What you get
The Novo Nordisk Foundation supports approximately up to DKK 1.2 million per year, with a maximum of DKK 3.6 million per fellowship.
Who can apply
Applicants must have obtained a PhD in natural and technical sciences, biomedicine or biotechnology within five years of the fellowship start date, not counting leave of absence periods, which must be documented on request. PhD students can also apply if their supervisor provides a statement that they are expected to graduate before the fellowship begins.
Applicants must establish contact with a host Principal Investigator at MIT who commits to being their primary research mentor during the stay abroad, and must not have spent more than one year as a postdoctoral researcher at MIT at the time of application, although the stay may already have begun. They must also demonstrate an association with the Danish educational system or research environment, for example by graduating from a Danish university, holding Danish citizenship or having several years of research experience at a Danish institution.
Requirements
A confirmed Danish host institution, including a host PI, is required. This must be a Danish university or other public, non-profit research institution that employs the applicant and administers the fellowship for the whole grant period, and that hosts the fellow during the period in Denmark.
Key dates
The application deadline is January 29, 2027.
