Overview

The MOPGA Fellowship Program 2027 is France's tenth call under the MOPGA programme, launched in line with its commitment to the Paris Agreement and its role in the fight against climate change. It aims to strengthen scientific contributions to the issues addressed at the Conferences of the Parties (COPs). The call is funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Space, and is implemented by Campus France. It enables young international researchers to carry out a research project in France and collaborate with leading French research institutions.

Five broad research areas are eligible: Earth system sciences, climate change and sustainability sciences, energy transition, societal challenges related to environmental issues, and human, animal and environmental health under the One Health approach. Innovative approaches using advanced technologies in these areas receive particular consideration.

What you get

Each fellowship includes only a monthly allowance of €2,500, a €500 settling-in allowance, and health coverage consisting of health insurance, civil liability insurance and repatriation assistance, followed by supplementary health insurance once the fellow is registered with the French social security system.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree awarded less than five years before the deadline, meaning the thesis was defended between December 2021 and December 2026 inclusive. They must not be living and professionally active in France at the time of application and must not have received a MOPGA fellowship before.
