Jean Monnet Fellowship in the Social Sciences & Humanities for Postdoctoral Researchers 2027-2028
Overview
The Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies offers one-year Jean Monnet Fellowships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for the 2027-2028 academic year. They are meant for scholars who gained their doctorate more than five years before the start of the fellowship on 1 September 2027. The programme is open to postdocs, tenure-track academics and those who want to spend a sabbatical at the Centre. Up to 20 fellowships are offered each year, and fellows join a lively and creative academic community in Florence.
What you get
The basic grant is 2,850 euros per month. Applicants who receive other grants or salaries must disclose them to the EUI, and the fellowship may then be set at a lower rate, with a minimum of 2,100 euros per month, depending on the additional income.
A household allowance of up to 310 euros per month is paid to fellows whose partner lives with them in Florence and earns less than 2,000 euros per month, topping income up to that level. A dependants allowance of 210 euros per month is paid for each dependent child living with the fellow in Florence. All fellows are entitled to 650 euros for eligible research expenses such as conference attendance. Fellows, but not their families, are reimbursed for the trip from their place of origin to Florence and for the trip to their destination at the end of the fellowship.
