Overview

The i-SEA Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded regional programme for young content creators who want to build skills in ethical storytelling, information integrity, digital media and responsible artificial intelligence. It brings together 40 fellows for a month-long hybrid experience with online masterclasses, mentorship, industry exposure and an in-person workshop and hackathon in Singapore. It is organised by the Centre for Information Integrity and the Internet (IN-cube) at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, in partnership with the Temasek Foundation.

The online programme runs from 13 to 30 November 2026 and the Singapore programme from 7 to 12 December 2026. Topics include misinformation, online harms, media law and ethics, AI in storytelling, fact-checking, immersive journalism and digital media.

What you get

Funding covers return flights to Singapore, six nights of accommodation, all meals, a daily stipend and an official certificate of completion. There is no application fee. Fellows attend industry visits to organisations such as TikTok, SPH Media and MediaCorp and work in cross-cultural teams at a hackathon on real information-integrity challenges, guided by industry experts. The online masterclasses are led by experts from journalism, technology and academia.

Who can apply

Applicants from Singapore must be 16 to 25 years old, and those from other eligible countries generally 18 to 25. They must be citizens or residents of a Southeast Asian country, China or India and be enrolled at a junior college, polytechnic, university or other post-secondary institution. They must be nominated by their institution and have at least 1,000 followers on a social media platform such as TikTok, Instagram or YouTube with a regular monthly posting history.

How to apply

Candidates confirm they meet the requirements and prepare evidence of their content-creation activity and posting history. Because institutional nomination is required, they should speak with their institution before applying. The organisers state that they will not ask for registration, processing, deposit or interview fees.

Key dates

The application period ran from 10 July to 30 August 2026. Fellows are expected to be announced in October 2026.
