Overview

The GEAF Ambassador Programme, run by the Green Earth Action Foundation, is a six-month global initiative for people committed to taking action on environmental and climate challenges in their communities. Through mentorship, capacity building and guided project implementation, Ambassadors design and lead locally relevant initiatives. These projects are fully funded and fall under the Foundation's five thematic areas: Waste Reduction and Pollution Prevention, Marine and Water Protection, Environmental Education and Community Empowerment, Climate-Smart Agriculture Advancement, and Forest and Biodiversity Protection. The GEAF team supports Ambassadors throughout, with training sessions delivered by subject-matter experts. Past sessions have been led by representatives from the ILO, IISD, CCC, SAIIA, UNEP, UNDP, WIPO and other leading organisations.

What you get

Ambassadors receive full funding to design and deliver a community climate project, expert-led capacity building from international think tanks and UN affiliates, and one-to-one mentorship throughout. Their affiliated organisation is recognised as a key collaborator, and Ambassadors gain a global platform by taking part in 4.29 Green Earth Action Day.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a strong understanding of and passion for sustainability and environmental justice.
