The George Washington Presidential Library offers research fellowships of one, three or six months at the George Washington Library, located at George Washington's Mount Vernon in Virginia, roughly 15 miles south of Washington, D.C. The research collections hold materials related to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and applicants are strongly encouraged to look through the catalogs beforehand to identify materials that will supplement their research. This call covers the 2027-2028 fellowships.

Fellows receive housing on the Library campus for the duration of the fellowship. Stipends are $3,000 for one-month fellowships, $10,000 for three-month fellowships and $20,000 for six-month fellowships. Round-trip airfare or mileage reimbursement is provided for one trip to and from Mount Vernon, up to $1,000.
