Fully Funded AToUT Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 2027 in France | 24-Month Research Opportunity
Overview
The AToUT Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 2027 provides international postdoctoral researchers an opportunity to conduct innovative research addressing global challenges in society, health, and sustainability. Coordinated by the University of Toulouse and supported by the European Union through Horizon Europe under MSCA-COFUND, the initiative offers 44 fellowships distributed across three calls. Selected fellows spend 24 months pursuing interdisciplinary research projects connected to an eligible disciplinary cluster at the University of Toulouse and a French host institution.
Who can apply
International researchers from diverse scientific and academic backgrounds worldwide are welcome to apply. Applicants must hold a PhD degree by the application deadline and propose a full-time research project that does not already receive funding from the European Union. Candidates must satisfy the MSCA mobility rule, meaning they cannot have lived or carried out their main activity in France for more than 12 months during the 36-month period prior to the deadline. Additionally, applicants must not hold permanent employment at their prospective host institution and must identify at least one eligible host research unit affiliated with the programme.
What you get
Selected fellows receive a 24-month full-time employment contract with a French host institution, accompanied by competitive monthly remuneration that includes mobility and social security allowances. Participants gain access to advanced laboratories and research infrastructure, personalized professional training and mentoring, and avenues for international research collaboration. The programme supports professional growth and career development within the international research and academic community in Toulouse.
Requirements
Candidates must prepare several application components, including a curriculum vitae, motivation letter, PhD certificate, detailed research experience, a comprehensive research proposal, and an ethics self-assessment. Applicants are required to review the official Guide for Applicants, verify their eligibility, and establish contact with a suitable host laboratory and research supervisor before submitting their completed materials through the online application platform.
Key dates
Applications open on 3 November 2026 and close on 26 February 2027. Shortlisted candidates will take part in online interviews between 23 and 25 June 2027. Selection results are announced in July 2027, and the fellowships commence in November 2027.
