Overview

The Foreign Policy for America NextGen Initiative is organized by Foreign Policy for America to identify, connect, mentor, and support the next generation of leaders. The programme aims to advance principled American engagement in the world by bringing together a diverse community of young professionals, policy experts, activists, and emerging leaders. Participants gain opportunities to strengthen their knowledge, build professional networks, develop leadership skills, and engage with issues that shape American foreign policy and international affairs.

Who can apply

The initiative is open to young leaders from across the United States. Applicants must be between 25 and 35 years old as of January 1, 2027. Members are permitted to remain in the cohort until they turn 37.
