EUI Jean Monnet Fellowships in Italy 2027 (Fully Funded)
Overview
The EUI Jean Monnet Fellowships are one-year fellowships offered by the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute (EUI), based at Villa Schifanoia in Florence, Italy. They run from September 2027 to August 2028, and the Centre selects up to 20 fellows. They are open to postdoctoral researchers and tenure-track academics of all nationalities.
Fellows are chosen for research proposals that fit one of the Centre's main research themes and programs. They work actively on one of its projects, take part in its academic life, and collaborate with researchers, other postdocs and EUI academic staff. By the end of the fellowship, they are expected to have a publication as an EUI Working Paper, in a scientific journal, or with a well-known academic publisher.
What you get
Fellows receive a basic grant of 2,850 euros per month. A household allowance of up to 310 euros per month applies where relevant, and a dependents allowance of 210 euros per month for each dependent child if conditions are met. Each fellow also gets 650 euros for eligible research expenses such as attending conferences or meetings, and travel expenses are reimbursed. The EUI helps non-EU fellows with visa and residence requirements and reimburses consular fees and travel costs to the consulate.
Who can apply
Applicants must have completed their doctorate more than 5 years before the fellowship begins, meaning the PhD was awarded before 1 September 2022. Candidates of any nationality may apply.
