Clinical Doctoral Fellowship
Overview
The University of Leeds is offering a Clinical Doctoral Fellowship in the Academic Unit for Ageing and Stroke Research, part of the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences and linked to the Bradford Institute for Health Research. It is funded as part of an NIHR Advanced Fellowship award and is aimed at professionals who want to combine clinical research training with a PhD to improve care for older adults.
The fellowship focuses on co-developing and evaluating an integrated physical health service for older people with complex mental health problems, across inpatient and community settings. The plans are aligned with national policy priorities in the NHS 10-Year Plan, including the forthcoming Frailty and Dementia and Mental Health Modern Service Frameworks. The exact content of the fellowship and a bespoke doctoral training plan will be developed with the successful candidate, using the team's expertise and suitable training courses. The fellow joins a lively cohort of PhD students in a highly interdisciplinary environment, with a view to a rapid clinical academic career.
