The OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Program was set up in 1997 by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), during the First International Decade of the World’s Indigenous People. It aims to give Indigenous Peoples firsthand insight into how UN institutions and mechanisms address human rights broadly and Indigenous Peoples’ issues specifically.
