Ban Ki-moon Foundation Your Future in Green Jobs – Mentorship Program 2026
Overview
The Ban Ki-moon Foundation Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program 2026 is an action-based initiative designed to connect the interests and skills of youth with meaningful green career pathways. Supported by Dubai Cares and in collaboration with Plan International and Unbounded Associates, this program is the third iteration of the initiative. Selected participants engage in expert workshops, receive tailored guidance from green job practitioners, and implement local Changemaker Projects to tackle sustainable development goals. Activities run from December 2026 to June 2027.
Who can apply
Applicants must be between 14 and 20 years old and can apply from anywhere in the world, provided they have access to a stable internet connection and can participate in online meetings. Candidates must demonstrate upper-intermediate English language skills, a keen motivation and proven interest in sustainable development and green careers, and a passion for bringing about change at local and global levels. Applicants are also required to successfully complete the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course, though individuals can still complete the course before the kick-off event.
What you get
Participants gain a deeper understanding of green jobs and the skills required to pursue them. The program offers tailored workshops covering project management, pitching, presentation skills, education, gender, and climate topics. Participants receive extensive one-on-one mentorship from a green job professional to develop actionable career steps, build professional connections, advance networking and project-management skills, and receive support to design and implement their own Changemaker Projects. Fifty candidates from around the world will be selected through a competitive recruitment process.
Requirements
Applicants must submit personal details including contact information, date of birth, address, citizenship, education, language competence, and a short profile description. Candidates must also provide professional aspirations and motivation, fields of interest, career goals, challenges they wish to address, and initial Changemaker Project ideas. Final stage application requirements include a portrait photo in JPEG or PNG format, a one-minute introduction video in MP4 or MOV format, and an optional simple CV. Holding a completion certificate from the online course boosts selection chances.
Key dates
