AI for Human Rights (AI4HR) Peer-learning Programme for Youth-focused Organisations 2027
Overview
The AI for Human Rights Peer-learning Programme for Youth-focused Organisations 2027 is a six-month initiative designed to connect youth organisations with specialized non-governmental organizations with expertise in artificial intelligence. Throughout the programme, matched participants receive practical guidance and experience sharing to determine how artificial intelligence can support their specific priorities, which may include documenting violations, analyzing information, or strengthening advocacy.
Who can apply
Eligible applicants are youth-focused human rights organizations that are either youth-led or work mainly with and for young people aged 15 years old and above. Previous experience with artificial intelligence is not required, as curiosity and a clear idea of learning goals take precedence. Applications from organizations located in Global Majority countries are particularly welcomed.
What you get
Selected organizations are paired with an artificial intelligence expert non-governmental organization for six months of support. Most work occurs online through webinars and workshops held roughly once a month, supplemented by a single in-person visit from the artificial intelligence expert during the spring of 2027. All participants also attend a workshop in Venice, Italy, on February 25-26, 2027, to network, exchange experiences, and discuss artificial intelligence in human rights. Funding is provided to cover all expenses related to flights and accommodation for the Venice workshop.
Requirements
Participating groups must provide one to two representatives who are available, proficient in English, and ready to commit to the six-month programme. These representatives must participate in the online sessions, the in-person visit from the artificial intelligence expert, and the workshop in Venice.
How to apply
Applicants must submit a short description of their organization and its work with young people, including a link to a website or social media presence. Submissions must also outline what the applicant hopes to learn or test using artificial intelligence during the programme and explain why this matters to their work. Finally, applicants need to provide the names and curricula vitae of the one to two representatives who will participate.
Key dates
The application deadline is November 4, 2026. The workshop in Venice, Italy, takes place on February 25-26, 2027. The in-person visit by the artificial intelligence expert occurs once during the spring of 2027.
