Across generations, grassroots resistance movements throughout Africa and its Diaspora have driven profound change — from the anticolonial and anti-apartheid struggles of the 20th century to the #BlackLivesMatter, #ENDSARS, and African feminist movements of today. Activists have carried forward the legacies of those who came before them while forging their own history, using technology and transnational networks to build pan-African and global solidarities.
