Overview

The 2026 Health Equity Accelerator Leadership Society Fellowship is an international project-led programme designed to empower emerging leaders to address healthcare challenges and health inequalities. Selected participants bring an original health-related project and lead its implementation over one academic session. The programme features five specialised tracks covering mental health, infectious diseases, climate and environmental health, non-communicable diseases, and maternal and child health. At the conclusion of the fellowship, participants present their work at HEAL Nexus, where top initiatives are selected for potential scaling.

Who can apply

The fellowship is open to undergraduate students enrolled at universities, polytechnics, and colleges globally. Applicants do not need to study medicine or health-related subjects, as the five tracks welcome students from diverse academic backgrounds and disciplines such as public health, environmental sustainability, social development, healthcare innovation, community engagement, and leadership.

What you get

Participants receive mentorship from experienced health sector leaders and take part in monthly leadership courses focused on leadership, project management, and professional skills. Fellows have the opportunity to access potential SEED funding to support the development and expansion of their projects. Successful graduates also receive a verifiable HEAL Society credential recognising their participation and achievements.
